Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Will my gutters still have to be cleaned?
Yes, but less frequently, and it will be easier. The Gutter Basket keeps downspouts clear of debris, so your gutters can be cleaned when it is convenient for you, not in the middle of a downpour when they would be overflowing. In addition, your gutters will be easier to clean because with the Gutter Basket in place, the leaves that settle in your gutters will be dry, not a soggy, rotting mess.
How much money will I save if I install Gutter Baskets?
Compared to the expense of installing gutter covers, you could save hundreds or even thousands of dollars. You can save on gutter cleanings because your gutters can be cleaned less frequently. And by protecting your home from water damage, you could save thousands.
How is the Gutter Basket installed?
Installation takes just a few seconds and requires no tools. Just clear away any leaves or debris that are over the top of the downspout. Place the Gutter Basket over the downspout and you’re done. If the downspout is at the end of the gutter, break off one end of the Gutter Basket at the perforation and set it in place with the square end in the corner. The Gutter Basket can also be widened to provide total coverage of larger downspouts.
What is the Gutter Basket made of?
The Gutter Basket is manufactured from heavy gauge galvanized steel.
In what ways is the Gutter Basket superior to other products on the market?
Compared to full-length gutter covers and inserts, the Gutter Basket is much less expensive and easier to install. In some cases, it is even more effective in preventing clogged downspouts.
Compared to wire and plastic leaf guards that fit over downspouts, the Gutter Basket is more durable and effective and stays in place better.
What keeps the Gutter Basket in place?
Its weight. It is made of heavy gauge galvanized steel, so it won’t wash or float out of place. A clip is available (upon request, free of charge) if you plan to clean your gutters with a leaf blower. It provides additional security against shifting.
How many Gutter Baskets do I need for my home?
Normally, a Gutter Basket should be placed over every downspout. If some part of your gutter never collects leaves or other debris, a Gutter Basket may not be needed there. However, for your convenience and for the care of your home, we recommend that you install a Gutter Basket over every downspout.
